SFB 1607 joins new EU doctoral network STEM-CORE
The new European research and training network STEM-CORE has received funding under the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA). Its mission: to develop sustainable and affordable stem cell therapies to restore vision in patients with corneal blindness.
Coordinated by Radboud University (Netherlands), the consortium brings together eleven partners from nine countries across Europe. We are proud that University Hospital Cologne is among them, with Prof. Dr. Claus Cursiefen and Dr. Maria Notara leading a project within the network.
Beyond cutting-edge research, STEM-CORE will train 14 PhD candidates in an international and interdisciplinary setting. The program equips them with scientific and transferable skills, preparing the next generation of experts to bring ocular regenerative medicine from the lab to the clinic.
At SFB 1607, we are delighted to be part of this exciting and promising initiative. We see STEM-CORE as a unique opportunity to support young scientists while driving forward innovative therapies for patients worldwide.
