New Crosslinking Projects Strengthen Interdisciplinary Collaboration within SFB 1607
To further strengthen interdisciplinary collaboration within SFB 1607, the consortium is introducing the new funding line “Crosslinking Projects.” The initiative is designed to support innovative, clearly cross-disciplinary collaborations that extend beyond existing project structures and create added value for the consortium as a whole.
Crosslinking Projects aim to connect researchers, methods, and scientific concepts across different SFB projects and across multiple Project Areas. By fostering exchange and integration within the consortium, the program seeks to enable novel research questions that could not be addressed within the framework of a single project alone.
The funding line particularly encourages collaborations between projects that are not yet closely connected, including thematically or spatially distinct groups. Cross-area collaborations introducing new perspectives, methodologies, or scientific directions are especially encouraged.
Projects will be carried out by PhD students and/or postdoctoral researchers who are funded outside SFB 1607. Each Crosslinking Project may receive funding of up to €50,000.
The initiative is intended to generate benefits for the entire consortium, including shared methods and resources, conceptual integration across Project Areas, pilot data for future collaborative initiatives, and joint publications involving researchers from different projects.
All Crosslinking Projects will run until the end of the first funding period on 31 December 2027.
