In 2005, he joined INSERM and has led a research team at the Vision Institute in Paris since 2008. His laboratory investigates the role of innate immunity in retinal diseases, especially in age-related macular degeneration (AMD). His research has revealed how genetic AMD-risk variants influence innate immune cells, disrupt subretinal immune suppression, and hinder the resolution of inflammation.
