SUMMARY:Lecture of Visiting Scientist Florian Sennlaub
DESCRIPTION:How genetic-risk variants of age–related macular degeneration shape pathogenic inflammation\nLecture of Visiting Scientist Florian Sennlaub\nDr. Florian Sennlaub earned his medical degree in Germany\, followed by doctoral training and a Ph.D. in Paris\, and completed his postdoctoral training in Montréal. In 2005\, he joined INSERM and has led a research team at the Vision Institute in Paris since 2008. His laboratory investigates the role of innate immunity in retinal diseases\, especially in age-related macular degeneration (AMD). His research has revealed how genetic AMD-risk variants influence innate immune cells\, disrupt subretinal immune suppression\, and hinder the resolution of inflammation. Collectively\, his findings highlight the impact of these risk variants on inflammation in AMD\, suggesting new therapeutic strategies to prevent pathogenic\, non-resolving MP accumulation in AMD. \nWhere?\nDepartment of Ophthalmology – Building 34 – Lecture Hall \nto Google Maps \nto the site plan
